Pair of oak fireside benches

Old oak low benches            £325 the pair Two old benches or pews, left and right handed, that were part of a completely oak panelled room in a pub. These would have gone either side of a fireplace. The seats are unusually low but good for lounging with cushions.. The seats lift up to reveal a storage space, probably used for logs and kindling etc. The condition is so-so; where they fitted into the rest of the panelling there are some rather unfinished edges. There is no floor below the lids, and the general finish could be improved. There would have been a plinth running round the bottom. In all though, these are perfectly useable and strong, and are priced for their condition. dimensions: 106cm x 72cm x 139cm high; seat height 31cm free delivery to Hastings, Bexhill and Eastbourne; approx £30 by courier to Brighton, Ashford, Maidstone, Haywards Heath, Canterbury and most of Sussex and Kent. Pair of vintage french vinyl armchairs

Pair of 1960’s retro vinyl armchairs             £120 Two funky type armchairs in tan vinyl from France, made in the 1960’s, probably. They’re both a bit damaged; one more so, with some of the vinyl split down one side for 4 or 5 inches. Possibly repairable with a patch or could just be left as is. Bit of rust on the rear legs and general wear and tear but still a nice looking, very useable duo of armchairs. dimensions: 70cm wide x 80cm x 88cm high free delivery to Hastings, Bexhill and Eastbourne; approx £30 by courier to Brighton, Ashford, Maidstone, Haywards Heath, Canterbury and most of Sussex and Kent. painted pub corner bench

painted and upholstered oak corner settle           £325 This oak corner bench came from a pub and is probably about 30 or 40 years old. We’ve painted it in a light grey and waxed it. The upholstery is not perfect; little bit stained from its previous life, but not as bad as you might imagine.. probably a steam clean would work wonders. If you really can’t live with it, it wouldn’t be hard to recover using a staple gun; the panels all unscrew easily. The back isn’t painted or designed to be seen, so this piece is best sited in a corner where two walls meet, though it could be easily covered if you wanted to use it to section off a space in a large room. It comes into three main pieces for transport. dimensions: 193cm wide (left), 191cm (right) 60cm deep, 100cm high, 50cm seat height free delivery to Hastings, Bexhill and Eastbourne; approx £30 by courier to Brighton, Ashford, Maidstone, Haywards Heath, Canterbury and most of Sussex and Kent. sycamore plank bench or side table

sycamore plank bench or side table

rustic vintage style bench shelf   £195 part of a range of milled plank furniture we are making, for use in the home or “insidey outside” places, like conservatories or verandahs etc. What we’ve tried to do is mix old and new, as well as natural curves with clean modern lines. It’s an approach used much in the seventies, in Scandinavian furniture, especially. So it feels a bit retro too. We like it lots. It could sit in a porch with wellies and dog leads on, yet would look great in a modern lounge with a widescreen on it, and media units below. We can make it to measure, with various add-ons and modifications, too. No reason why it can’t be used in the garden,  but with some care; some of these pieces are in less durable timbers, such as this example, in sycamore. Too many rainstorms and days of baking heat would reduce its life somewhat. We’ll be doing some in oak and chestnut for those situations. These sussex grown sycamore planks have been debarked and sanded nice and smooth but without removing the sawmarks from the milling process. The result is a nice mix of the lush and the rugged; the grain shines through, as do the natural ripple burrs that are a classic feature of sycamore. We finish it with an oil to enhance the grain and protect against spillages. dimensions: 139cm x 29cm x 47cm high sycamore bench shelf   £195 free delivery to hastings, bexhill and eastbourne; £30 to brighton, canterbury, haywrds heath, tunbridge wells etc. Delivery to London and further afield by trusted courier, estimate £40    ...
