tableIf you can’t find what you want, it’s often worth having it made. At Barnaby’s we make bespoke furniture, from pine kitchen tables, benches and coffe tables, to shelves, boxes, cupboards and sometimes wardrobes. We can use new wood or reclaimed timber. At the moment we have a large stock of 100 year old pine joists, 7″ or 8″ by nearly 2″ thick, which make beautiful table tops.

Made to measure furniture is generally (though not always) more expensive. We don’t apologise for that; you get what you want and we have to work harder.. To be fair, cheap pine bespoke furniture is available from factory type shops but it won’t have the character of ours. If you want something that retains the age of the timber or looks authentic, rustic, country or traditional, then we think we can provide that.

Our furniture is handmade. Ok, we don’t hew the wood with our bare hands; we use power tools when needed. But we don’t rely on large machinery to churn out identical looking pieces. We also have many years experience of repairing and restoring antique pine furniture and feel that we know how a piece should look.

If you like the look of our painted shabby chic furniture then we can finish your piece like that, any colour or combination of colours.

We also stock examples of work done by local craftspeople who also will make to measure. Brian, Keith and Rich, amongst others, bring various different skills and styles to bear on their products, from traditional woodland techniques to upcycling reclaimed materials.
